Today’s modern island woman goes from the beach to dining out and loves to look effortlessly beautiful. With this in mind, I’m creating a sophisticated collection of women’s resort wear for the Hawaii lifestyle!
Hawaii’s relaxed lifestyle and natural beauty is the inspiration and vision behind Malie Wear, however it is far from the traditional Hawaiiana. This first collection is the Kai Collection and is inspired by the sea. The beautiful fabric colors blend the rich blue of the deep ocean to the teal blue where the sea meets the sand. And we’ve even created two custom printed fabrics – one inspired by the Honu (Hawaiian green sea turtle) shell and another inspired by the scales of the Humuhumu reef fish.
I’m so excited about the launch of this new collection and I can’t wait to share it! Flawless at the pool over a bikini at lunch, or out to dinner with heels and jewelry, the Malie Wear Collection is a must have for any wardrobe!

I am so happy about the re-launch of our mists! This wonderful product has been with us since the beginning, although it’s been through quite a few packaging and name changes. We welcome it now as our island ambiance linen and room spray!

A new year is upon us! The journeys and lessons learned in 2011 gracefully guide us to a beautiful, healthier and more sustainable life in 2012.
As we were approaching this new year, my thoughts for the future of the company soared! Wanting to further my commitment to the environment and embrace the essence of calm, serene and tranquil, plans for 2012 developed…
And now that things are falling into place, I am so excited to share the spring launch of our new spa wear clothing line! Being inspired by Hawaii’s nature, this time instead of it going into a bottle, it will be going into apparel! Malie means calm, serene and tranquil, so I’m looking to develop clothes that are very easy to wear, for the casual-type of lifestyle when you’re feeling relaxed. We’re taking the visuals you see in nature and expressing them as Hawaii inspired, but not Hawaiiana. This is not going to be your sterio-typical aloha shirt. We’re bringing Hawaii to clothes in a whole new way.
The brand extension to apparel is only natural and you’ll be able to find these fine wears in the spas and boutiques where you already find Malie’s luxurious home and body products. Stay tuned. Aloha!

I am very particular about the ingredients I choose to put in Malie products. Each one has special benefits and works in harmony with your body for more deeply therapeutic results.
It is amazing how certain plants can hold these benefits within and I am so grateful that these plants are available! In a world where it seems like so much is processed and man made, it is nice to go back to the Earth and back to our roots, realizing these resources, utilizing them and sharing them with the world.
Hawaii has an abundance of natural resources and I always love to see our ingredients growing in the wild, or even in people’s yards. It is so much fun to go on a hike and wash your hair in a waterfall with awapuhi ginger that you freshly picked, growing wild on the side of the stream…
Pure ingredients contribute to our overall well being – It is not just about beautiful skin but it is also all about how we feel inside. I love all of our ingredients and proudly list them on our packaging and website. Everyone is loving our new organic perfumes! We completely sold out of our entire inventory! They are available for purchase at our fine retailers across the globe, however I don’t have any to sell online! Not to worry, we are quickly replenishing and they should be available online soon! I’ll announce it on Facebook when they are back in stock. I love everything about this product! I’m so happy with the roll on applicator and all of the packaging just turned out so cute! Plus, the perfume is beautiful and fits perfectly in my purse or even my pocket! Mahalo to everyone for your purchases and supporting Malie!

It’s been a very busy summer for Malie with lots of traveling and lots of exciting new developments! And, when thinking about the future, there are so many things I would like to do with Malie that it’s hard to choose!
We recently opened a new boutique in The Royal Hawaiian – a gorgeous hotel right in the heart of Waikiki, built in the 1920s! If you’ve ever been to Hawaii you’ve probably seen it’s iconic pink buildings on the prime Waikiki beachfront shoreline. It’s luxurious and classic and the perfect place for Malie! My graphic designer and I had fun being interior designers and picking out all the elements for the renovation. We chose a sophisticated shimmery rice paper wall paper as the backdrop for all the product displays and a complimentary “rock candy” wall paper for accents. These wall papers are amazing and so beautiful! I’m so excited to have the opportunity to use them! Check out some of the photos of this project below.
We are also just a few weeks away from the launch of our new organic perfume! This is exciting because we get so many requests to bottle our beautiful aromas into a perfume product and after much time, these requests are being fulfilled!
What’s next for Malie? I’m trying to figure that out now and I’ve got some ideas up my sleeves. Keeping in mind that malie means calm, serene and tranquil, that is the theme for the direction of the company.
In November we’ll be launching an island ambiance gift set which will feature 3 mini reed diffusers together. There will be the floral collection with plumeria, orchid and pikake and another featuring coconut vanilla, mango nectar and koke’e. Our reed diffusers are our most popular product and this is going to be a great way for our customers to be able to enjoy different aromas and share!

New Organic Perfume Sneak Peak

Kauai is as far west in the US as you can go and now after a 10 hour flight, I am as far east! I’m excited about bringing some aloha to the big apple and it’s time for some fun!
This week I’m visiting New York to meet with my wonderful rep, Joyce Mortan, and visit some of Malie’s boutiques. I’m also excited about shopping all of the global beauty brands and getting some inspiration! Today while shopping Plaza Beauty, I think I found the inspiration for the box for our new perfume! (The bottle is inspired by a beautiful etched bottle I found and that part of this project is already in production!!) It’s exciting to see all the products the world has to offer and it helps me to make sure Malie is still making the most beautiful products in the world!!
Another exciting mission while I’m here is to look at the world class retail environments and gather ideas and concepts for the “store-in-store” Malie stores we’re planning for in Japan’s biggest department stores!
Who knows what else I’m going to find!!
